Fantastic!
Have you given any thought to how you will lubricate the engine if you don't have the two-stroke oil in the gasoline? Perhaps use the carburetor to meter the oil, and just pour oil in the fuel tank? Dunno

Actualy, that was a damn good observation. Unlike other hit n miss engines that only draw fuel/air when needed. the Maytag is a 2 stroke, and the 'miss' phase is acomplished by interupting the spark. So yes, the exhaust is mostly unburnt fuel. Hmmmm.....

First , good observation in that it needs lube. My thoughts were, a drip oiler would solve that. I didnt spend much time on that problem. Since that was not the end goal.

I like your thinking. The compressor is only needed to start the flow in the downdraft system. The engine has its own suction once started so a compressor or blower is not needed after start up. However, using it as a 'supercharger' sounds like a good idea!
