pretty sure it's NOT legal, since NST fall under the rule of the National Park Service. Firearms aren't allowed in any national park, forest yes, park no

Do you sleep in the open alongside the trail?

adventure is always a highlight in ones life......

I would need a sherpa

@johnfegy thanks man, 250 miles that is crazy

@Failedtroothers I cant understand the logic? If people are freaked out seeing me Open carry a pistol on the trail, because they think I might do them harm...whats to stop someone who is bad from doing it? If your that scared of guns why dont you have one to protect yourself against others? And whats to say someone needs a gun to attack you? Im not worried about people more so then the illegals near the border and bears, bull moose and cougars that DO attack people.
hey i was wondering what was your favourite part of the pct, also how long are the portions of trail between towns or resupply stations? thanks

@appledeeap that's a really tough question to answer as there were so many highlights. The Sierra, Three Sisters, Goat Rocks Wilderness, Mojave, etc. I guess my personal favourite was the last 60 miles of the North Cascades and glacier peak wilderness in Northern Wa. As far as resupply points, the farthest I went between was in the Sierra. Something like 250 miles without resupply I think.

I have found .44mags revolvers that weight just under a LB so they match weight with a can of bear spray. Just cause someone didnt have to use spray on a bear dosnt mean an attack wont happen...im just saying.

@Failedtroothers Like I said, I think it is legal now to carry firearm on National Scenic Trails. If you feel it necessary to carry one, you absolutely can. (there may be some exceptions...I don't know the full extent of the laws and the state rules on this).
happy trails and hike on!
