Hedgehog Bath Time - Comments Answered

Here is a video response to a lot of the questions I have received on my video, "Hedgehog Bath Time". Featuring myself and my little buddy Max.

NEWS: Max passed away July 2011. He was battling a cancerous lump on his jaw. Unfortunately the only humane option was to put him down. I miss him everyday.

Did you put some type of balm on Max after bathing? I thought I heard some container opening and then it looked like you rubbed something on Max before rinsing him again, I was thinking to myself it was conditioner to make him softer.

Does Max ever shoot needles out at you? What does he eat?

No balm.Max never had skin trouble so I just used normal shampoo. I didn't rewatch the video but if I put anything on him it was just the shampoo I used.

And hedgehogs don't shoot their quills. Their quills fall out like our hair does, but that is all. They cannot do more than make their quills stand on end like hair on a dog standing up. In nature they eat bugs. Max ate cat food on a regular basis. Non fish based, high protein, low fat, cat food. Indoor cat formulas I found to be best.

Breeders are the best way to go. I bought Max from an independent person who had a pet hedgehog that gave birth to some little ones. No breeder or store involved.

@John N. You are such an Ass. Y'know, I wonder if you just posted to see if someone wouldn't try to fly down your throat independence day style and shut out all the shit you even bothered to talk. More than half the vid was devoted to responding about Max's bath and care... Be happy no one has even bothered to report you for comment abuse. You should go somewhere else with all that.

I am sorry, what "false education" am I spreading? Do you disagree with my care and adoption messages? I answered the questions that I was frequently asked. I also point people continually to very good sources of information like Hedgehog-Central.

I made the original video because my friends often asked me "how do you bathe a hedgehog?". It was a simple video that was on here for years before it gained strange popularity.

I work at a pet store... We don't sell hedgehogs. If we did.... i might buy them all, even though I can not currently obtain a hedgie based on where i reside.. at my boyfriends house. >.>
