Marmalade - Baby make it soon 1969

If you're coming home,
like your letters say
And the place you're staying now,
ain't too far away
Can you write tonight,
just to let me know
Cos since you've been away girl,
I've missed you so

You won't let me down,
cos I'm sure you're homeward bound
And you'll be back safe and sound,
cos I just know

Baby make it soon, make it soon
(I can't wait another day)
Baby make it soon, make it soon
(Lord I know I need you, come on)
Baby make it soon, make it soon
(I need you right away)
Baby make it soon, make it soon
(Lord I've gotta see you)
Right back here, here in my arms

If you're coming home like you promised to
Will you write tonight and tell me what you're gonna do
For I'm lonley now and I'm gonna stay that way
Till I hold you so tightly in my arms again

You won't let me down,
cos I'm sure you're homeward bound
And you'll be back safe and sound,
cos I just know

Baby make it soon, make it soon
(I can't wait another day)
Baby make it soon, make it soon
(Lord I know I need you, come on)
Baby make it soon, make it soon
(I need you right away)
Baby make it soon, make it soon
(Lord I've gotta see you)
Right back here, here in my arms

You won't let me down,
cos I'm sure you're homeward bound
And you'll be back safe and sound,
cos I just know - Whoa -oh

Baby make it soon, make it soon
(I can't wait another day)
Baby make it soon, make it soon
(Lord I know I need

  • So many fans of this music, but do you think I can find someone my age who listens to Marmalade or any slightly unknown 60's artists? I have not yet met anyone who knows who Marmalade or the Small Faces (my favourite band) are.

  • @Peachteatube .....;']...nah....just gave Jimi a big kiss..X

  • @PAULLONDEN oh paul paul paul. we know. and we know about the ipad spell-correct of hendrix. Please join the group anyway, it's a lot of fun. Dean is about to issue a new album with ex-Badfinger Joe Tansin. Both Joe and Dean are active in the Group and respond to our questions. Their new duet The Glasgow Road has been posted on our wall. Guitarist Junior Campbell and Drummer Alan Whitehead are also active in the group, posting memories and photos. :-)

  • @Peachteatube Jimi HendriX...was talking about "I See The Rain".

  • great song what a year

  • The lead vocalist looks like Justin Bieber with long hair and leather pants! In reality, he would go on to join the Alan Parsons Project!

  • @jane78ist Yes, the is the original vocalist Dean Ford, who also sang Reflections of My Life, amongst other hits. Hope this helps
