Trick to beat him in hard or insane is to make sure you push that coward into the ridge where he likes to hide.
After causing about 8-9% damage of his total health to him,he will run for the shore and hide behind rocks to heal.
The trick is to chase him down when he tries to heal and interrupt his healing by shooting at him and forcing him to move back to the ridge.
In case your horse is low on health(and it should be) have the two other horses ready at both of his healing rocks for backup.

No clue why,but i beat him on Insane and on Hard and for some reason i seemed to kill him a lot easier on Insane mode then on hard.
Its bad enough that reed is a fucking pussy and needs to heal behind his little rocks like the cowardly little bitch that he is,but to make matters worse when you DO go after him he's like a fucking super marksman and NEVER misses and i mean NEVER.
He's like hollister in terms of accuracy. Those two NEVER miss. Pisses me the fuck off. Glad i finished this already.

this was done on easy even with a fully upgraded neds rifle it takes alot longer on hard and insane difficulty
