Ygor resurrects Frankenstein's monster and brings him to the original doctor's son, Ludwig, for help. Ludwig, obsessed with the idea of restoring the monster to full power, is unaware that his various associates all have different ideas about whose brain is to be transplanted into the monster's skull.

  • @leaderstragg I know what you mean and the dubbing is surprisingly good for the time. But another advantage of having Chaney do the dialogue is that it might have convinced Universal to stick with their original plan of having him play both the Monster and the Wolf Man in FMTWM. Lugosi was a disaster as the Monster and one of the reasons they choose him at the last minute was b/c the part originally had lots of dialogue and he could use his "Ygor voice."

  • @jksonny Hmmm, you may have a point there, but I loved Bela Lugosi as the monster's voice! so I'm afraid if it had been up to me I would have kept it, I'll just assume Ygor still sounded like that because he was so used to talking that way he kept it up even when his neck was restored.

  • @leaderstragg I meant that Chaney should have spoken the dialogue in his version of the Monster's voice. There's no reason he should still sound like Ygor, as if he still has a broken neck.

  • @jksonny Wait! Do you mean that Lon Chaney Jr. should have been the monster with Ygor's voice or Bela Lugosi should have done it?

  • @leaderstragg That's just it. Chaney would not have needed to do an Ygor impression. The Monster would still sound like the Monster, only he would be speaking Ygor's words. He might speak more clearly and fluently but it would still be in the Monster's "voice."

  • Scary, Huh?

  • BOO!!!!

  • @leaderstragg RIP Lon Chaney, Jr.

  • @BlackMagnumFilms GO FRANKENSTEIN!!!!

  • @jksonny Me 2
