How to put AVI files in Sony Vegas - Problem SOLVED

I assume many people (including myself) have spent countless hours searching the net for a solution to this problem. I have tried basically everything - installing new codecs for example. Nothing worked - until I found the real solution!

(I don´t know wether this will work for those who get no audio, but it sure worked for me - I couldn´t see any video, just the audio.)

(Last link was broken, but this works if you choose the mirror)

sony vegas i considered one of the best programs,but for me it's fail cause we can't insert avi!!the most basic thing a video program must do!!!

Thanks so much for this! I was tearing out my hair trying to figure out what the problem was. I'd already installed a K-Lite Codec pack, but apparently the codec I needed wasn't included in that one. Thanks again!
