Sponsored by Northrop Grumman, the Mechanical Senior Design Project was to obtain a Radio Frequency (RF) Circulator and move it to a testing interface with extreme precision and repeatability.

Some basic requirements was the circulator could not be damaged during the gripping phase. The grip should be adjustable between 5 and 30 pounds of force. Circulator should be moved a minimum of 4 inches to the testing interface. The circulator should have some force (once again, adjustable between 5 and 30 pounds) holding it into place while the test procedure is run. Once testing is over, the circulator should be returned to the loading position.

All of this has to happen in under 60 seconds (not including the 15 second test phase) with a repeatable precision of 0.002 inches.
