Scenes from SPBD clients' weaving businesses.
Samoan fine mats are prized traditional mats used not for sitting upon but for keepsakes to exchange during special occasions/ceremonies. The finest Samoan mat can be over 15 feet long and take over a year to weave. Traditionally, Samoan mothers and grandmothers would start weaving a mat when their children are young for their marriage or other ceremonies.
