  • im trying to decide between the 400ex and the 450r and i currently have a 250ex but the power is no where near what i want. is a 400 good or a 450 im going to be doing mostly trail riding..ill also be putting about a thousand dollars into which ever one..for a thousand dollars can i make the 400 really fast? please give your opinion

  • for trail riding the 400 is better. the 450 definitely has a lot more power and is faster, but can be hard to ride in the woods. if u get a 400 and put a little money in it u will have a great 4wheeler but it still won't be as fast as a stock 450r.

  • just look at my channel and u can see my 400ex

  • I have a 400ex that will smoke a stock 450's ass with the right sprocket. I've got a sprocket for acceleration on it but all i need to do is change to my top end sprocket.

  • @RedRangerDanger uh tht is a lie i own a 400ex modded to shit 85mph nt enough for the 450r

  • it sucks honda stopped making the 400ex but i guess its all about the upgrading

  • 400 ex

  • @paintballermk1 uhm not true i have a 400ex and ive put around 1500 into it and it eats 450s.

but before you go pouring money into the engine i would of recomended you put diffrent suspension on it

  • My 426 with cams, cdi box, moded air box, exhaust, and 450 carb just to name a few things. Will beat a stock 450 easy..it's the same horse power but the piston is lighter and higher compression so it actually revs out quicker. If you want a good woods bike get a 400 and widen it, throw some 450 shocks on it and it will handle like a dream.

  • MrSgig

  • @lamoreau11 no i have mine bored out to a 440 and it still will not beat my dads 450r
