The celebrities that we love are not just lovable because of their glamour and looks. Sometimes they do things that make them real icons.

There's a whole lot of awareness these days specially and many celebs are involved with some charity or another. Let's take a look...!

1. Katrina Kaif
Bollywood's sexiest actress Katrina Kaif wants to become Miss Charity. Katrina Kaif has been actively participating in charity works for the past few years along with her mother Suzanne who runs charitable organization, Relief Projects India and Mercy Home.
2. Anupam Kher
Anupam involved with the NGO Pratham, to raise money towards education of under-privileged children in India. The Padma Shri Award winner, said that instead of endorsing a shampoo or a perfume he wants to lend his name to Pratham, as it was a worthwhile cause.

The actor is also involved with the Anupam Kher Foundation which also works for the education and care of street children.
3. Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha has reportedly donated her Dabangg paycheck entirely to Salman Khan's Being Human charity. 'Yes I have donated my signing amount to Being Human. I believe in the art of giving. My parents have always encouraged me to do charity. By God's grace, I am in a position where I can do something benevolent for someone else.'

4. Salman Khan
It is said that Salman Khan is man with a golden heart and one who never tires of doing charitable work. Sallu has decided to make it official and has launched the Being Human - Salman Khan Foundation.

5. Aishwarya Rai
Aishwarya is a UN Microcredit Spokesperson.She supports PETA India. She pledged to donate her eyes to the Eye Bank Association of India, and appeared in a public awareness film on eye donation. In November of 2004, Aishwarya Rai created the Aishwarya Rai Foundation to help needy people in India.
6. Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Shetty has supported the following charities: Act Against Bullying, Cry, Heroes Project, Shilpa Shetty Foundation, Silver Star. She won Celebrity Big Brother 2007 and donated her winnings to Indian AIDS awareness campaigns, and has also been involved with animal rights group PETA.
7. Priyanka Chopra
She is an ambassador for UNICEF. She supports the following causes: Children, Health, Human Rights, and Poverty.
8. John Abraham
Abraham associates himself deeply in social causes. He loves animals and works for PETA. John also has his own brigade called John's Brigade of Habitat For Humanity, a Jimmy Carter Foundation project.

In January 2009, John led a group of Indian celebrities in the Mumbai Marathon, and ran to raise funds for charities.
9. Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan has secretly donated Rs 2 crore for the rehabilitation of people who lost their homes to the devastating floods that wreaked havoc in Leh.

Aamir also visited the place. The actor made it clear that whatever he's donating should not be made public because he's not keen on grabbing headlines for his charity.
