As Corvette is the title sponsor of Sunday's ABC Sport's broadcast of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, it only makes sense to educate viewers how closely related the production cars are to the ALMS GT racers. To do so, GM showcases the Corvette ZR1 and tells viewers that when they decided to take 638-horsepower Corvette racing, they had to dial back the power just to be fair to Porsche, Ferrari and BMW. For Corvette's competition on the track and in the showrooms, sometimes the truth hurts.

  • LMAO @ this ad, firstly it doesn't even use the ZR1 platform and secondly, the M3s spanked it on the ALMS races....1st? BMW. 2nd? BMW.

  • @wassa786 I forgot, who won both GTE classes at the 24 hrs of LeMans this year?

  • funny, I don't see porsche bragging about having to run their much slower 460hp gt3 rsr instead of the 620hp gt2rs... hmmm, porsche needed to "dial it back" by 160hp too.

  • Funny is the ZR1 Cost a fraction of all of its competitors and its still taking them to town "Dialed back" GM is just talking shit, Because formally, they have more than A million reasons to do so.

  • Ill start by saying that Ive been blessed with a fortunate life and Im very thankful, so dont take this as bragging. With that being said I own a few Ferraris, Jaguars, Audis, BMWs, and Chevy cars. Out of all my "super cars" I find myself grabbing the keys to my ZR1 over everything else. It easily combines comfort, fairly easy maintenance, all around driving ease, and huge horsepower. All my other cars are toys, my ZR1 combines the best of both worlds and at a reasonable price. Just my 2¢

  • I find it funny that Ferrari and Aston had to do the same thing. The 458 produces 562 horses and they had to dial that back. The aston which formally produced 625 had to be dialed back as well. I don't see them tooting their horns about "being fair". Then its even more funny when BMW, a company which had to ADD power, is spanking everyone!

Way to go Chevy, you government subsidised bastards.

  • just goes to show you how big of pussies those import car companies are

  • @DRFTmonkeh Yes but try getting 100,000 miles out of the 458's 4.5L with only doing oil changes. It's not going to happen. But yes you ae right the commerical is misleading.

  • Fuck yeAh!!!

  • 105 people don't know anything about ALMS.
