DeusEx Escape from Ton Part 1 of 2

Bit of a rush job, but this is how to rescue Paul Denton ALIVE from the 'Ton Hotel by placing LAM's at the NPC spawn points BEFORE you go see him in his room. Loadz of you have probably already done this but this is MY way of doing it.
Note that this is obviously NOT a non-lethal version, I prefer to use weapons in the game. And yes you can obtain 10 LAMs before you get to this point WITHOUT cheating, you just have to search every level thoroughly.
I am using the HDTP Hi-Def Texture Pack with the Shifter plug-in on the PC version of the game.
If anybody is interested I can provide a more thorough and complete walkthru of all or parts of the game for those of you who have never played it before (!)
Part 2 of this is my (bad) attempt at escaping from Hell's Kitchen. Again a rush job but it proves the method, I didn't have time on the video to hang around waiting for the NPC's.

re: HDTP problems

It seems that when they wrote the DX HDTP installer they copied the HDTPanim.utx file into the DeusEx\HDTP\Textures folder instead of the DeusEx\Textures folder. oops... In the words of one of the HDTP developers:

"I suspect the installer has placed it in Deusex\HDTP\textures, rather than Deusex\textures....probably because I didn't tell Trestkon to make the installer do that, because I'm an idiot."

You dont have to watch Paul out of the hotel you just have to exit through the front door to keep him alive, he dies if you exit through the bedroom window

@leslondon Thanks for the tip, I was sure that I didn't have to see him out, however I think my version of DX may be bugged because if I kill all the guards and the mibs, and then I let Paul out of my sights for a moment, he disappears from the level. Later when I am in the L4 detention centre he is a dead cadaver instead of a live person.

If I actually see him out to the door then he is alive later on... very strange bug methinks...

Hi, thanks for the comment. I have several original versions, but this one I got off ebay. Amazon are also seilling it, it still retails for around $50 but you can buy for MUCH less than that thru an Amazon Shop.

This is the standard version with the Shifter mod and the Hi-Def mod, not the Game of the Year edition. If you patch it up with the 1.112 "direct-from-box" patch it runs quite well, even on Vista.

I still play this game today, I haven't found anything else with the same depth.

@best360gamer Sorry for the delay, I have been playing with DX and have solved the problem.

1. open your main DeusEx install folder

2. Go to the HDTP folder then go to the Textures folder

3. COPY the HDTPanim.utx file

4. Go BACK to the main DeusEx install folder then go to the Textures folder

5. PASTE the HDTPanim.utx file into this folder

6. Start DeusEx NOT HDTP <- important

7. Press "t" and delete the word "Say" from the command line

8. type EXACTLY -> open 00_HDTP_Demo.dx <--

@ofpmaster4ever I bought mac version in about 2000 - missed the game and started replaying on windows last year - cant play mac anymore cost me about 5 dollars

@boredwithusernames Also while you are waiting for JoJo to appear for 'his scene' you can simply walk over the bot about 5 times to kill it (need to run around a bit) - as for your prob all I can say whatever happens in battle in my experience you go out the front Paul lives and Ive played this mac/pc on and off over 10 years paul lives - Paul does disappear though after he's killed people and your camera is off him
