I don't see why some NYCS fans claim that the R160s suck, they are newer, bigger, and faster IND/BMT subway cars, and I enjoy seeing them and riding them. After all, they are replacing the older IND/BMT subway cars on several lines, and I love their computer announcements.

THEMTAKNOWITALL.. i can give u many reasons why the R160s suck but i'l share with u a few. the side of those cars look like hopspitals, the lights are too bright and the blue seats look like hospital beds. I've been on quite a few of them where at times, the A/C doesnt work good in the summer and the sign on top that tells u the stops doesnt work. R160s are gay. R46s will be around for at least 5 more years so im sure plenty of them will remain on the F line.

@MrDiesAlot23 I think the older trains looked much better cuz they were unique compared to other subways in other parts of the world. Now NYC is imitating other cities. They dont even look like trains, they look like shuttles. The inside of these trains look like hospital ER rooms with their ugly blue seats and from my experience, many of them dont have strong A/C during the dead of summer, especially on the E line. Just cuz they're new, doesnt mean they look nice. They look like shit

@bvestationfan im glad u've had luck riding them. The R46s were much better trains in my opinion not only did i like the look but i like the fact they have more room than the R160s. The R160s trains are ugly and as i said b4, the inside looks like a hospital waiting room.

@bvestationfan When i said that R46s will be around for 5 years, i didnt say they were gona be on the F. I'm saying that the R46s will not retire until 2015 or so. I even found out a few months ago that even the R32s are (which were suppose to retire by 2010) will stay for 3 more years. That of course can change. We'l see what happens

@bvestationfan Well lucky u, I've been on MANY R160s during rush hour and when its not rush hour where i have to move to a good spot to get AC. i've even seen ppl complaining that it was hot on those trains. And this was in the months of July and August.
