is it neccessary to learn acoustic before electric

It's not necessary, but I think it's helpful to learn in that order. Acoustic guitar will help you to strengthen your fingers and build technique. Then, switching to electric (should you choose to do so) will be a breeze. Anyone else have thoughts on this? Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Hi,

I would definitely recommend the FG700S over the F310. The main reason is the solid spruce wood used in the FG700S top. The solid-top FG700S features a richer, fuller sound than the laminate-top F310. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

i got my yamaha FG700 today as a christmas present and i can tell you that its an amazing guitar, even for its relatively cheap price! i had time to compare it with other steel strings at the shop and it felt the most comfortable in terms of sound resonance, brightness of the tone, the action, and looks, within the under 1000$ range. if you are getting this as your very first guitar you are super lucky!!

I have that squier strat affinity series in the background and its a decent guitar except for metal, it can get by but not that well with metal...
