Airshow Related Operations at Republic Airport
Featuring the Blue Angels
2010 Jones Beach Airshow
Jones Beach State Park
Wantagh, New York
Sunday May 30, 2010
IN THIS VIDEO, you will see the Blue Angels depart from Runways 14 and 32 (the seven Hornets taking Runway 14 and the C-130 taking Runway 32) and head back to NAS Pensacola following the Sunday show. To give you an idea of the time frame, the Blues flew their show at around 2:10 pm and had engine start around 4:20-4:25 pm to head home. The seven jets were given clearance to take off at 4:45 pm after waiting over ten minutes to get clearance delivery and vectors from Kennedy Airport. Fat Albert waited even longer and departed around 5:15 pm. In addition, you will also see Chris Baranaskas and Scott Clyman return from a formation flight with the P-51 and L-39, respectively. I've even included a departure by the B-17, which took off from Runway 1. I hope you like the sound from that departure, as I turned the scanner off to get the noise.
If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .
its so cool how they pushed thrust at the same time. must have been ridiculously loud at the airport!

The last Air Show at Jones Beach (Sunday), I was supposed to take a Helicopter flight from Jones Beach to Republic with the Air Force Auxiliary (Which I'm in) yet apparently there was some sort of Security Breach, therefore no one was allowed to visit them... apparently when the public was able to get up close to #7, someone did something to the aircraft...

Number 4's move into slot position didn't look as smooth as usual, but I guess they weren't doing a show so it didnt matter
