Pre-planned means planned before the mission. Some things can be planned during the mission.

Okay, yes, it is a pet peeve - "since every piece of the mission was preplanned", umm, isn't planning by definition pre? How many missions are planned post mission?

To me it rates right up there with "hot water heater" - no wonder your utility bills are so high, you're wasting energy heating water that's already hot!

Mariners were and are advised to keep clear of certain areas via HYDROPAC, HYDROLANT, and NAVAREA warnings issued by the various members of the International Maritime Organization. When the Space Shuttle was launched a NAVAREA was issued advising mariners to remain clear of the launch area and SRB landing areas. Same during the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo eras.
