Parrot singing like Opera-singer

UPDATE: This recording of Lorre has been featured on Radio 1 in The Netherlands! [21 November 2010 on Pieter van der Wielen (VPRO)]
STORY: Lorre was a parrot and belonged to the family of a pianist from The Netherlands, who is now a professor for piano in Germany.
This recording was made by him in the 1970's, when he lived in the Dutch city of Arnhem, while he was doing his every-day piano-practicing at home, with his bird Lorre singing along!
The bird was eventually passed on to a new owner and unfortunately, we have no info on the whereabouts of Lorre, a green amazon parrot.

I find this very moving. It creates an immediate connection.
To think that an animal can be this responsive - not 'hard proof' of self awareness, but I find it hard to imagine a being that is this skillful that wouldn't be self aware in some way.
We've come a long long way from Descartes and his ideas of animal automata.
