* Syrian president Bashir al-Assad maintaining his country's stance against their 'south-western neighbour'.
* Ehud Barak and Ami Ayalon face off in a battle for the Avoda (Labor) Party leadership...turns out Barak defeated Ayalon in the elections, not the other way around as "Chadashot Eser" (and everyone else, it seems) predicted.
* President Shimon Peres nods off during an interview - the trappings of the job, I guess...
* Hapoel Ashkelon F.C. "nearly win" the State Cup soccer championship against Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C....yet the fans are still in high spirits.
* "Mr. Television" Chaim Yavin musing about his retirement from anchoring the IBA First Channel's flagship news bulletin, "Mabat" (which took place on the 5th of February, 2008).
