The classic Neopolitan love song! The bane of begining singers worldwide. 8) Well, I thought that you should go overboard a little since its a love song. Nothing wrong with having some fun with music, is there?. The painters included with the song are (in no particular order): Ghirlandaio, Homer, Rockwell, Vermeer, Goya, & Vieux. Try and match them.
Why use a Commodore Amiga? It does sounds somewhat like a Harpsichord/Virginal which was all you had to play on in the 18th Century, so I hope that it makes it seem as if you were being transported back in time. 8) Enjoy.

Since the issue of the name has come up, I'll just write what was in the score book I used. I was singing from the book "26 Italian Songs and Arias" by the Alfred Publishing Co. edited by John Glenn Patton.

"Nov/Dec 1981: The familiar edition, edited by Parisotti in 1890, names the composer as Giuseppe Giordani (no relation to Tommaso). The evidence for Tommaso as the actual composer is given in the next article.

Background: English enthusiasm for Italian opera continued throughout the 170s, adn it continues today. Sixty years after Bononcini composed Griselda for London, Tommaso Giordani composed "Caro mio ben" for a concert there. A native of Naples, Giordani lived most of his life in London and published many vocal and instumental compositions there."

  • Hi Amid if i may call you that i am a teacher by the way your not a Baritone your a Tenor admitingly with much work to do but you do have some qualities, i Teach this song every day of the week for over 30 years if you click on my user name you can hear my version im playing the piano aswell and good luck in the future keep up the good work

  • @skipadeedoodaa You can just call me Drew, and yes, I'm a tenor. I can fake a baritone when our chorus is short of them. Thanks.

  • Great attempt but alas there are too many teachers out there without the knowledge to teach, this is why we have so many bad examples of singers attempting to sing, although i have to say that to sing you have to have certain qualities an inner ear and musicality soul etc. I would have to say that 95% of teachers should go for lessons themselves,

  • @skipadeedoodaa I'll freely admit that this attempt is pretty crap. The last "professional" teacher I had was in high school back in the 1980's and informal lessons otherwise. This was more an attempt at learning how to make videos. I'll agree about the teachers though. 8)

  • In what key is this version?

  • @loico03 I no longer have access to the book I used, so I can't tell you.

  • I'm crying because I felt the emotion in your voice. Good singing. You have a gift.

  • This is nFun! Thanks. You sound great. I too am a tenor who started off low

  • So many voices, so little talent.

  • I'm like most amateur singers who would PREFER to be a bass or baritone, but are actually a tenor. I was taking a few lessons with Dietrich Elberlding and right off, he could tell that I was a tenor.
