Nye Automotive Group, in conjunction with Oneida radio station WMCR, will hold the 27th annual Share a Caring Christmas on Dec. 11. The event will take place at the Ford dealership from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Performances from local musical groups and a special visit from St. Nick himself will highlight the event.
This year's Share a Caring Christmas will feature performances by musical ensembles from VVS, Oneida, Chittenango, Canastota and DeRuyter schools, as well as entertainment by Fritz's Polka Band and the YMCA Choir. Additionally, refreshments will be served and Santa Claus and his reindeer will treat children in attendance to a visit.
The main purpose of the event is to collect toys for local families who may not otherwise be able to provide their children with Christmas gifts. Toys -- both new and gently used -- can be dropped off at the dealership at any time prior to Share a Caring Christmas during normal business hours, and during the event as well. The toys will be taken to the Salvation Army, and then delivered to the families in need.
Share a Caring Christmas is open to the public. All are invited to attend. Anyone interested in donating toys or volunteering for the event should contact Lori Precourt or Rebecca Butke, event co-organizers, at 315-363-0600.
Been there. Done that.
