SRI KRISHNA KIRTAN ( Raas-leela , Part 2 )

Traditional bengali padabali kirtan by geetashree Chhabi Bandapadhyay . Describes the raas leela pastime of leela-purushottam sri Krishna . Such singing styles are also called padaavali kirtan or leela kirtan as it narrates the leelas or plays of Krishna through songs and words . During the time of sri Chaitanyadeva , kirtans primarily consisted of naam-kirtan which was mainly about singing the different names of lord . After Mahaprabhu a new style evolved which was named leela-kirtan . Such kirtans begins with 'Gaura-chandrika' or praises of sri Gauranga and then proceeds to describe the central plot of the kirtan(raasa dance in this case) . These kirtans may last upto a few hours and end with rememberance of sri Chaitanya and sri Nityananda and loud congregational chantings of haribol . This is the second part.....

@pinaki2999 you can ask for chhabi bandopadhyay's kirtan in standard shops like symphony in esplanade . many versions are available . its easy .

besides chhabi bandapadhay there have ben other renowned kirtan singers also , such as radharani devi . her cds are also available in shops .

@MsRadhika12hi radhika .glad that you liked it.this is the art of traditional bengali kirtan . sadly it has almost become extinct due to lack of popularity . and some who do continue are'nt good singers .

well , the pictures are all obtained from internet. just google the words 'radhakrishna' or 'krishna' or 'vrindavan art' and then continue browsing through all the pages until you find them. i cannot remember the exact sites now .

but incase i have the pics saved i can send them to you .

oh this is sooo sweet....i dont understand bengali,but htnxx to the english transalations.....n the pictures of RadhaKrishna are soo awesumee.....kindly tell me where can i get all of them....the conversations between Radha & Krishna are soooooo gooood !!!!
