I also use the split stance for snatch. At 6'03 with long arms and legs (and a lack of shoulder flexibility), I just can't keep heavy loads overhead in a full squat position without losing it forward. Most I've attempted so far is 61kg, but I think I could get 70 on a good day, hopefully.
Yep, I'm an old-timer at heart. I love doing split snatches. This one was way out front though. I've been better about keeping my pull more straight up since this was taken. I'm now snatching 80K because of it.
