@p0wah91 There are more than 60 Canadian immigration programs in place, so a lot of factors including your age, education and work experience come in to play.

@Canadavisa Well my girlfriend lives in Canada, and i dont want to get married right now but i would like to study in Canada. Could i come to study then stay there permanently?

@p0wah91 You would need to get accepted into a Canadian educational institution so you can then apply for a study permit. After you have worked or studied in Canada for a while, you could qualify for some permanent immigration programs, such as the Canadian Experience Class program, the Quebec Experience Class program, or some Provincial Nominee Programs.

how easy is it for us NYer's to move to Canada? i hear we dont need visa's.

You will definitely need a visa if you want to reside in Canada permanently, but if you just want to visit (for up to six months), you may not need one if you are a US citizen. If you want to work or study in Canada, you will need the appropriate permit as well.
