Good heavens I was pretentious and self-conscious! I think I've finally overcome my internet paranoia, so I'll quite hiding behind my latinity and let my identity be known. What follows are the parts of the original description I have allowed to survive:
This is an original composition (Johann Michael Validus being a Latinisation of my name), commissioned for this coming Easter Sunday by the church whereat I am organist. In properest terms, I began writing the thing last night and finished it this morning, although the days were not divided by sleep - I simply kept writing through the midnight watch, for the deadline for its completion, that all the musicians might practise, is 5 p.m to-morrow.
So, here it is, for your enjoyment...my take - for two trumpets, two trombones, and my lovely pipe organ - on Gastoldi's masterpiece "In Dir ist Freude". I'd have to say that my biggest inspiration was Michael Praetorius, perhaps because I spent most of yesterday listening to his works, although I daresay that I haven't begun to approach his level of mastery. Nevertheless, I am still in secondary school, so there remains hope for me yet.
Look for future compositions here, if you liked this one, and feel free to request something!
I see that there have been ratings...do comment as well, I'm interested to hear responses!
