To those claiming the use of Casals' catalan name "Pau" instead of spanish version "Pablo":
C- The owner of this YouTube Channel show clearly his position against Casals opinions about Catalonia because is also insisting in wrong use of other catalan names (Cuxa instead of Cuixà).

B- Casals NEVER demanded the use of his catalan name, because: 1- All his official papers (pasports, contracts...) were with the name in spanish. 2- His portorrican mother always called him in spanish. 3- He decided to live his older age in Puerto Rico were spanish language was popular.

A- Yes, it's not nice to use his spanish name in Catalonia and in the rest of Spain because the persecution that Spain is still doing agains him (In the 2008 inauguration of Geneva' Human Right Hall, spanish governement still had forbiden the Casals composed United Nations Hymn).

Wow, Casals on video! I never imagined. I have him doing the Cello Suites on CD...a gem if ever there was one. Thank you.

i have the same CD and it sounds much better than this recording....comparing casals to rostropovich is like comparing an eagle soaring to an eagle soaring an impossible thing to do
