  • The opening trumpet solo? Fantastic. Sounded pretty professional to me.

He missed the first tuplet in the beginning, though. :(

  • Certainly the tempo's are a little odd from the usual, which might detract from the quality of the musicians. I think that the trumpet player has a fantastic sound on him, and the brass in general do a fantastic job if not superb. The bits that i caught. The orchestra also handles well, some things that i haven't caught before that i heard.

  • music to my ears.

  • a cupple of people went wrong

  • Overall, very, very good:) I could've used a lot more brass, though.

  • sometimes a bit messy but I like it! I think tempo's had to be that way in this performance, but anyway still good.

  • I agree. It's odd because Yampolsky is so musical. But it feels too Russian -melodic and rhapsodic. I miss the German 'chunkines', the inner punch of Mahler's changes of rhythm every few bars. It feels too predictable.

  • bad choice of "tempi", poor phrasing.

NU famous brass, what happened to you?
