In Egypt's local elections only one in three council seats were contested after more than 800 members of the Muslim Brotherhood were arrested.

  • Egyptian government is the most unrecognized corrupt government in the world. Since Mubarak has taken power, he has been jailing, torturing and trading away Egyptian interest for his own agendas. Its ashame when people get up at 6 am and stand in line for 8 hours only to be declined of bread due to low inventories...

  • This uprising is not about religion. It is about freedom and hope. The Egyptians want the same things Americans want (you know, the Constitution and The Bill of Rights. As far as the God I believe in, the makes not distinction between Muslims and Christians. We are all part of his creation. Egypt, you are a brave and noble people. My prayers, as well as my heart, are with you. Your courage gives me hope.

  • Is that David Frost???! Holy Fuckin Christ...I didn't know he was still around! What a great interview: BBC comes through with a good piece on the middle East.

  • People like starcatcher778 are impossible to argue with. So the best thing is to ignore. Even if he was sitting with a scholar face to face who put all the refuting arguments, he will continue to argue, because he approaches this argument with a prerequisite and bias that Islam must be evil. So he would try to find any way or argument if he was presented with something that proves otherwise and believe me he will be going in circles until your patience depletes.

  • why dont you stop googling anti-islamic websites to get answers. Please provide proper refrencing so I can prove you wrong. I've read 6 books on the prophet muhammed, all western published by non-muslims,all are scholars who have way more merit then you or any of your googled websites, and all paint an accurate picture of the prophet.

I hope you'll wake up one day..anyways,you dont seem like the reading type..go to this link and see some evidence to help you wake up a bit.

  • Yes, i am sure you learned your facts from a very credible source. You are clearly ignorant, childish, and a racist. I think your probably mad at the media painted image of muslims or maybe a muslim guy beat you up and your takin it out on everyone else, who knows. Bottom line is it is I who is majoring in History and not some Anti-islamic fanatic who cant make a factual argument because of his ignorance.

  • That's the kind of answer that is expected from some one who cant argue facts.

  • Starcatcher778, you are obviously a raving lunatic. Congratulations, enjoy your life. I hate to break it to you, but all religion sucks. I am sure you are crazy right-wing Christian nutjob. You are just as worthless as the extremists you despise.

  • Yasser Arafat is corrupt, just like the leaders of all the arab nations, but they are a product of the united states policies, rule, interests. Matter a fact, most of them are indirectly appointed by the U.S. For the Palestinians that championed him, keep in mind they are not aware of his nature due to their living styles.

  • Starcatcher778, only if the world was as simple and base as the trash coming out of your mouth. Miss you, Saad! He is seriously one of the greatest people on the planet.

  • Each of the oil rich nation want to get more from their limited resources. Only a slow witted government would not. Why do you think Russia put the state company in charge of most of the oil in Russian territory... to get more money to spend on other things.
