This was my first time reporting from a USAFA Graduation. As always, the video that Gene Cotton cut together was beautiful. Props to Adam Knapik for the thrilling Thunderbirds vid. Interviews are with cadets Joseph Ulisse of Bristow, Virginia and Joel Holley of Littleton, Colorado. Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff gave the commencement address and there are two sound bites included from his speech.

  • That's not just "an admiral in the Navy," that's the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

  • @SamHagagaga

Sam, you're absolutely right, and I've shot interviews w/ Adm. Mullen three times here in Colo. Spgs. since he was named as Chairman of JCOC. I regret that I'm not able to upload the graphics that we use for our stories as he was appropriately titled there. In my narration I shortened his title to try and capture the humor Adm Mullen used in his speech when broaching the Air Force Navy rivalry.

  • All these graduations, can't help but wonder how many are actually gonna be worth the money spent to educate and train them.

  • 1:47 now why would he do that...

  • The USAFA may be tough and hard, but it's also very rewarding.

  • @Arthaszs I was in CAP as well. I highly doubt that 80% of cadets get accepted. CAP means jack squat if you don't have the grades, athletics, and other EC's to go along with it. Not everyone of those cadets (certainly not 80%) have all that.

  • that isn't just a navy admiral, that is the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff

  • @teriyakininjaXxXx I think any graduation you go to would be boring. I don't think they're designed to be entertaining but, rather, to be a ceremony to recognize 4 hard years of work.

  • 1400... My high school graduation class will have 1800 :D

  • All those brand new "butter bars"!

  • @ Arthaszs If you pass your Mitchell Award then maybe.
