@DelusionalJ Exactly, I just saw it on the television. What a great gesture, also because of the fact that three years earlier, after the final of the World championships in France, his team did step on the tatami - much to the dismay of the Japanese (he defeated Sone then (and Kaminaga in the quarter final). Geesink did not want that to happen again, so the single waving of the hand made sure the team stayed where it should be - beside the tatami.

That single gesture to the spectators after his victory - "don't enter the tatami again, as you did in 1961, which was quite a disgrace. That single gesture made him a legend in Japan. He gained so much respect.
