Stu Phillips is a composer, arranger and producer who has amassed a quite eclectic body of work. He produced hits for Shelley Fabares, Nina Simone, and The Skyliners. He masterminded the Hollyridge Strings, a catch-all name for a series of studio orchestra renditions of then-current pop hits. The first Hollyridge Strings release, The Beatles Song Book, was a Top Ten hit. He compossed the music for television hits The Six Million Dollar Man, Quincy, Battlestar Galactica, and Knight Rider. Perhaps his most notorious work was music for the Russ Meyer film Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

  • When this came out I was in College - this version. There was another great song on the album also but I can't remember what it was -- only that it was great parking music - if you know what I mean. Anyone remember the album name or that other song? KKJ

  • @jhudd4 This was featured on his 1965 album " Feels Like Lovin' ", Capitol ST 2356. It's obviously been out of print for some time, but I've occasionally seen used copies listed on eBay and Amazon.

  • tex what year did this comeout. do you know. was it on the charts-easy lisenten music.

  • The original hit version by Little Anthony came out in '64 & reached the top 10. This version by Stu Phillips was on an album I picked up in the late 60's; don't think that it ever came out as a single.
