"So.. Nick. I hope I'm not being to nosy.. but is it ok if I ask about
your family? I mean, like, any brothers or sisters?" I lightly tapped
the counter with the edges of my fingernails. Nick's eyebrows shot up.
"Oh, not at all. Well.. I have 3 other brothers, the youngest,
Frankie, is 13, the eldest, Kevin, is 25, and then there is Joe, who
is 23. I have no sisters. Um.. And.."
He bit his lower lip,
"And.. I had a wife. H..h..her name was Miley" a sudden darkness
shadowed his deep, lusicious brown eyes. Depressed, angry, weakened;
Those emotions swam in an endless circle in those dark brown orbs.
Even though I already knew, I couldn't help but feel sorry. I could
tell he really loved her.
I whispered, "Oh my.. I'm so sorry.."

He shook his dark brown hair lightly out of his eyes.
"You don't have to continue.."

"But, I want to" I gave him a puzzled look. He simply ignored it and
continued.
"Well.. Yeah, Miley and I had a child too.. His name is Christopher,
Chris for short. He's a year and 6 months old. And....... Um. She..she
died of a blood disease." His voice cracked at the last sentence and
tilted his head upwards to heaven, as if they were whispering to him.
"Well.. What about you, Selena? It's your turn." He sipped more of his
coffee. I blinked and cocked an eyebrow.

"Ok.. My turn.. Wee." I said, adding sarcasm and humor. Nick chuckled
under his breath.

"I have one brother, his name is David. He was very protective of me,
until he lost hearing in one ear. Well he still is protective but, he
rarely goes out. He's engaged though, to a girl named Bridget. She
helps us a lot.. Since, our parents passed away a year ago.." I felt
my eyes begin to glaze.
"Awh..... Selly...... Don't cry" He got up from his seat and sat next
to me.
"I'm ok.. I'm ok.. Now where was I? Oh yeah.. Well my parents passed
away.. And yeah.. Bridget lives with us in a small condo. This is the
only job that helps me pay for the rent." I sighed. Nick sat up and
hugged me.
"If only the ones we loved most were immortal."
--
That was lame. But oh well :P
