@Politicimo I understand its purpose and the concept of avoiding "enlightened despots" (Proposed by Voltaire, if I remember well). And I support that we must follow it, but not in a blind way. I mean that it would be unhealthy to take it as infallible and inchangeable. We must be aware that it has flaws bcuz of the epoch it was written at and bcuz after all, it was written by men. Dems don't necerly hate the constitution, after all the restribution of wealth isn't prohibited by the constitution.

@rolingpingu The Purpose of the Constitution was to make America a "nation of laws, not men," meaning the government could not irreparably expand, or have one branch overtake the others. It meant the country would not be run by "enlightened despots."

People like Barack Obama and the Democrats hate the Constitution because it gets in the way of their wealth redistribution schemes (which is the primary way they buy votes and remain in power).  They like to wave other people's money around.

Well, actually Cenk, the left DOES bring God into discussions (when it's useful for them). Nancy Pelosi has implored people to allow the Fed. Gov. to take more of people's money so it can go into healthcare because the Government (apparently) has the "Biblical power to heal".

I find it amusing how similar the left wing is to religious nutjobs. "Jesus loves universal healthcare!". Translation: "Oh yeah, Jesus is TOTALLY cool with forcibly taking people's money to dole out to others."
