Phillies Fans Parade To CitiField 8.22.09

PhillyTailgate.com hosted a trip to CitiField to see the Phillies play the Mets in their home. Before the game we gave NY a taste of Philly with a Mummers Parade Phillies style through the streets of Queens. 250+ Phillies fans danced outside of CitiField in their red before the Phils won 4-1. Fans even took advantage of the chance to salute the Mets 1969 World Series team with a "Lets Go Phillies" chant!

@metville I didn't think that the parade in was that bad. My problem was chanting "Let's Go Phillies" during the ceremony for the '69 Mets and not giving them the respect the deserved (which as I mentioned in a previous post that I have since deleted I had no part in). I actually was honored to be there that night on the the tailgate trip and I said beforehand that it would be the only time that I cheered Mets Players (and it was of course).

I like how were were no where NEAR that many Phillie fans at the other games that series...

The only reason they probably showed up was to be dicks during the 1969 Celebration.

(They're probably still a little bitter that a lowly seven year old expansion franchise won eleven years before their ninety-one year old "powerhouse." [Note the sarcastic quotes around "powerhouse."])
