You're one miner, let's say mining for 2h/day for 7 days and whatever you supply is <=100% of the demand (corp, local market, whatever)... you can essentially set the price. Now, a bot shows up, same single miner, but mines 23/7; the bot dumps the minerals, and now that supply exceeds demand by something like 11x, the prices will fall.

Not to mention, botting is explicitly banned in the rules; whereas other forms of asshattery are considered legitimate gameplay.
