Rinse the Raindrops. Paul McCartney, Driving Rain, a Crabapple video.

An insane amount of work went into editing this video together. I treated it more as an experimental art film than as a slideshow/video collage or traditional "rock video." I'm pretty proud of this one, and I think it's the first one of my videos that looks like real art.

I don't see how anyone who has actually taken a minute to listen to any of McCartney's work could dismiss him as "poppy."

This video is definitely NOT for the cuddly Beatle-Paul crowd.

  • Maybe the best McCartney solo song

  • @metalsimon

And to the attentive listener there are many other truly GREAT solo songs... and many just as heavy.

  • @mccrabapple Could you give me some names about his heavy songs? I really like this one...

  • @marga90 There are so many heavy Macca songs. You can't go wrong with the albums "Wings Over America," very BIG, very seventies, very rocking, and his latest album "Electric Arguments" is very heavy in tone. Songs: Soily Let Me Roll It (Outtake from Band On the Run) Letting Go Spin It On She's Given Up Talking Nothing Too Much Just Outta Sight Helter Skelter (live!) Old Siam Sir Lonely Road I've Got a Feeling (live!) Beware My Love The Mess India Lonely Road Wildlife (live!) Lots more...
  • Has anyone checked out Paul McCartney's experimental films from the 60s they are quite interesting. Well some of them are anyway. He was into avant garde well before John Lennon was. It wasn't until JL met Yoko he expressed an interest. Untill then he regarded and actually said that avant garde was french for bullshit.

  • No, I haven't had the opportunity to see any of his experimental films. but, it is correct, like it or not, Paul was the avant garde Beatle, but he was also the one who loved all that music hall stuff, a complicated guy with a wide variety of interests. He deserves more credit than the Cult Of Lennon allows. And he has continued to be highly experimental, check out "Daumier's Law."

  • @blondauge I have been trying to find them again but to no avail sorry.

  • Wow....[and great work on the vid!]

  • @nakidsoul You do know that many people have no praise for Mozart or Madonna or Pink Floyd don't you? They have no praise for them and still don't. Oh and by the way there are many more people now who regard Yoko as a brilliant artist in her own right and there were also at the time you are speaking about many who also did. As for the slowing down I simply refer you to Judas Priest and the notorious "Do it/ peppermint" trial in the US. Says it all. Your argument is invalid.

  • @OrpheusIsThe1 You do know that many people that saw Yoko's films had no praise for them...and still don't....and btw...in the Pink Floyd song, "Several Species of Small Furry Animals...." there is a hidden message in the sound track that when the speed of the turntable [or data feed] is slowed down can be heard saying "If that ain't avant garde,, I don't know what is?"...check it out...some one did post a vid on yt demonstrating that.

  • Genial, song and video clip!

  • GRANDE BRANO ROCK

  • Maybe it was "bumpy night." Oh well. Love the song and the video. Boris Karloff et al.
