@mazda2284 see ur wiring it in series which doesnt change much of the ohm wen u wire it in parrallel like i said u can drop it to 2 ohm or 1 ohm depending on subs i got a 4 to 2 ohm handling amp mono block hooke up in parrallel with 4 ohm dvc kicker will bring it to 2 ohm to match the amp and get more power heres vid on parralel watch?v=1icfF0r30ls

@carterflaman actually he is dead on with the wiring, the only way (in my opinion) his sub would blow with this wiring configuration, is if his sub cant handle a 2 ohm load
-
what wire do u use for the jumper from each coil
-
so if u had 2 subs you would put the positive and negative on different channels ?
-
Ok, what if i have two dual voice coil woofers and only 1 channel amp

the way you wired up that sub, it wont be at its peak performance and if you only have one side of the sub hooked up, the sub will blow easily.

@carterflaman wrong . both coils are working hooked up like that , u use 1 pos from 1 coil and the neg on the other, leaves you with a open pos and neg . those go to your amp . and the sub can be better this way. wiring in series is better in my opinion. i have 4 dual 2 ohm subs wired up and the final load is .9 ohm with your way it would be 0.000001 ohm killing any amp made.

@mazda2284 u should have did parrell wiring but ur set up is diffrent from mine positive of one coil to positive of other coil same with negative then run wire a negative wire from one coil to amp then positive of other coil to the amp and u will drop ohms in half without chance of ruining

@chevyislife you probably have 1 dvc 4 ohm subwoofer . if you run lots of subs it get harder and much different. if you have a dual .7 ohm coil subwoofer and wire it how you did most amps cant take that . the final ohm is .35 about . if you wire it how i did it would be 1.4 ohms and would be safe on most mono amps

@mazda2284 thats what i said but i put my comment my friend saw video like this and wired his positive to negative and so on with just 1 dvc and wrecked his sub so i just cleared it up for people with 1 dvc this isnt proper it could work but wont get max of sub or amp this way u did it

@chevyislife what your friend did is took the pos and neg from 1 coil and wired them together...lol and then just wired 1 coil to the amp.... you need to use pos from Coil A to the Neg of Coil B ... you should have a pos on 1 coil open and a neg on the other,,, works perfect..
