The Barlagnes have been in Canada for the past five years but perhaps for not much longer. Their daughter, suffering from cerebral palsy, has been deemed an "excessive burden" to the state by immigration services, and the French family is being expelled. Their failed legal battle is only one of many in a nation seeking to balance its robust immigration with costly universal health coverage.Duration: 01:53

  • i think europeans must expell some canadians who are excessive bruden, they expelled portuguese who werent excessive bruden they were working paid taxes etc this is bullshit canada is huge maybe once they started going usa way they will want to go to other countrys too then its the time they taste the boot

  • this video makes way more explanation , like what do they do if the kid is Canadian born, and suffers from a severe disability far greater that cerebral palsy and exceeds those pathetic $5000 , Canadians wake up and america you too we can all end up severely disabled we are powerful rich nations we have to have better healthcare. either kill or try your hardest to give a better life, plus if the family has been paying taxes they do not deserve this treatment

  • by the way, this family was ASKED to come to Canada to work, they also stated in the initial immigration form that their daughter suffered from a small handicap and this was not judged problematic when they were given their work permits, and also their family doctor has said many times that the child does not represent an"excessive" burden to Canadian society. It is revolting and disgusting. You should read the facts before spitting your ignorance

  • I'm ashamed of my country. Canada has become a mirror of American policies thanks to our own George Bush aka Stephen Harper. The question should not even been asked, aren't her parents contributing to the Canadian economy by paying taxes out of the paycheck? The girl is not completely handicap, she does not require "excessive" treatments. As far as I know, criminals in the country have better healthcare than many of us, it's a shame, a real shame.

  • Canada, you are fucking bullshit and so is your Queen.

  • The US needs this policy. 90% of Mexican immigrants would be sent home. We can't afford to take care of all these poor people and their families.

  • whats the big deal ?? they are from France a decent country with better health care .. if they were from a poor country one must argue .. why immigrating to begin with

  • nothing wrong with that, if they do that to the minorities, they should do that to the white too, they are just illegal immigrants

  • Let's work toward removing money from our society and make immigration a right!

  • wtf, why cant they be asked to make up the difference themselves, out of their own pocket? Disgusting. I bet Canadians in France wouldn't be labelled as excessive burdons and thrown out.
