Around tiny islands in the remote and pristine waters of the Coral Sea, Peppered Morays (Sidera picta) follow the foreshore on an incoming tide looking for baby turtles and crabs for food. The team from Cairns Marine collected a few of these for Public Display on a recent visit. The collectors refer to these eels as 'Jumping Eels' because of the way they leap aggressively at collectors when confronted in the rock pools. A sense of humour is required.

  • OK....that dude in the red jumpsuit & white hat just aint right. First off, he's got bigger hooters than my ol' lady does & next, that hideous suit accentuates every hill, canyon, valley that you would never want to have to see in this lifetime. They may have had to maroon this guy on the island for dressing like that
