Dispense (Horkheimer rmx)

This is my reflection of a lecture about the "Dispensed World" given by Max Horkheimer (Frankfurt School - Critical Theory). Capitalism made the individual thinkable, but refuses to carry trough the promise. The dialectic of capitalism can lead to its dissolution in two ways. One is a world in which individuality can be fulfilled, the other denies the promise itself and leads to the end of the idea of individual happiness. Neither way happens necessarily.

Administration is a way towards the negative dissolution of capitalism and at its end didn't stand the "autonomous subject". This could be seen in the indiscriminate mass murder that is the Shoa.
All video sequences are taken from the 1962 film "The Trial" (directed by Orson Welles). It's made after the unfinished novel by Franz Kafka. In it Kafka farsightedly analyzed which way the european antisemitism would go.

The sound construction reflects the standardizing effect of administration which leads into the totality of the "Dispensed World". But still there is a chance to stop this process and establish a rationally arranged society in which individual happiness can be fulfilled and the "autonomous subject" finally becomes reality.

It is a motion blur filter. It blurs the person in motion in the movie, the other remain sharp because, they are standing still.

I see most people are too shallow to comprehend this brilliant video. Public school won't teach you how to comprehend things as complex as horkheimer and adorno. That is something you will have to experience through sovereignty...and thought.
