The thing about shearer is that he is a legend over there for the fans.The players have huge respect for him and he can influence and motivate them .He is sort of a role model

I take your point. On the other hand Roy Hodgson who has managed for decades Internationally and at European Clubs for decades took over at relegation threatened Fulham and they are now playing in Europe. Could Shearer do that? or guardiola?

well its not always about experience with management...guardiola came to barcelona and did great , granted they have good players but so do real madrid and he did superb with the club.

How do Newcastle expect a guy who has never managed a club at any level to take them back to The Premiership? It beggars belief. I'm not saying he won't one day be a top manager. But just because he is a hero and a Geordie is not good enough reason. Don't tell me about passion...the toon fans are fantastic ...I love watching Newcastle games...but they don't have a monopoly on passion. They need a wise head, a supportive chairman, and more money. The fans are the best thing they have currently
