Hi! If you check the cubes scale factor in the Att editor, it should be (1,1,1) at the centimeter pref. If you check the cubes scale factor after changing the pref to meters it has become (.001, .001, .001) so upon creation any new cubes will still be a centimeter in dimension. After changing the pref to meters, return the Attr editor scale factor to (1,1,1) and any new cubes should now be a meter in dimension.
You probably figured this one by now but if you didn't, the problem you're having at 6:42, not being able to see the cube when you're close is because of the high setting on the Near Clip Plane. The lower that is, the closer you can get to the object. So you only need to increase the Far Clip Plane in order to see it from a distance. :)
I would also like to use this opportunity to thank you for the Unity tutorials.
I just started watching this series, so I don't know if you found out the actual problem, but Unity has this weird habit of scaling the objects to 0.01 on all axises. Found that out when we had to make a game as a school project with Unity. Just a heads up.. :)
