  • No, I used scrap aluminum, mostly from extrusions. Aluminum cans have so much surface area that they will produce a lot of slag. (You can still do it, but it will be messy...)

  • Yep. On a subsequent pour i did just that and it went well. The real problem with this pour though was that I crushed the pressure head on the riser prior to pouring. That's why you see aluminum spilling out in the background as I complete the pour.

  • Maybe better cleaning (1:01) so that it pours gently...
