Personally, I think this film was the best of 2008. Hands down.
I am a huge fan of Darren Aronofsky and when I first saw the trailer I thought 'what the hell is this?' and was quite apprehensive as it seemed totally different to his other films. But after seeing it, I felt and still do, that it is his best film yet.
I was there with this character 100% and so it was such an emotional journey. So much so that I can't watch it again for a while.
Films like this are very far between.

The part where she says "I don't care about you anymore. I don't care if anything bad happens to you and I can live with that." That was so emotionally gripping. It was one of the few moments of a movie that made me cry. The whole film had me gripped and I had my self caring about Randy Robinson. I favorited it because it is such a powerful film.

I can't believe I have to wait a week to see this. Really looking forward to it.
The Wrestler is very good film but I'm unsure how I feel about it mainly because I'm unsure how I feel about Mickey Rourke's character. I think the ending is both completely depressing and completely uplifting at the same time. I really love Evan Rachel Wood. She's my favourite actress and I think the scenes with her in this film are stand out. She just blows me away.
I agree with what you say about feeling the emotions in this film. I deffo did too.
