This video shows my trees after they have been protected for winter. In my general area not a lot of protection is generally needed. However, I live on the edge of some open farm land which means we are really exposed to the wind. Considering this I try to add some extra precautions for my trees and developing stock.

  • Hello sir .. I'm new to the bonsai and I just start this year a few of them, I have a question ...? Do we have to move the outside bonsai into the house when the winter time ( snow )... even JUNIPER...? PLEASE let me know.

    thank you.

  • @ahingsaga - This is a difficult question to answer without knowing all the details but general outdoor bonsai stay outdoors all year. Junipers and Pines might even stay on a bench all year. Deciduous tree are often mulched into a protected area outside or kept in an unheated garage or structure for the winter. Of course tropical plants will need to be inside or in a heated greenhouse.
