@sandhorse1 Not all shelter dogs are good for doing work such as being a guide dog, but if you could find a shelter dog, guarantee it's health, temperament, and have it fully trained (which usually takes 2 years to do costing 10k+) I am sure there are many people that would love a dog like that. Though it might be hard for a guide dog to come from that background, I believe some hearing dog groups get theirs from shelters :)
