My Mother loved him an dhe had hit songs on my birhtdate 1955 I also was told he was tone deaf,,, what a voice what a song writer a definate plus to the music profession

@Willogram Yes I remember he wore the olf fashon Wire Out Of the Shirt Pocket Into the ear kind.
As a kid of the 50's and with the name of John Raymond I had a special fondness for his music.
Maybe there was a kid with the name Ludwig who was a fan of Beethoven in that day

Don't forget he was also partially or mostly deaf too.

very few singers make me teary eyed so easily,, almost instantly,, I have to reach for a hanky! Thanks for posting this music, you give my heart a much needed lift! Thanks Johnnie, so few singers know how, or want to touch your heart, you certainly succeeded, and we're all ever so grateful too! God bless you!

I added this to 1952 in my 110 playlists for every year back to 1900. You can travel back to the music of any past year with the click of your mouse.
