I'm a HUGE gamer guy, actually going to school for game design. So when I'm taking notes or studying I use that to my advantage (like in biology, a give cells/tissues/viruses/ext. different roles and try to draw LOTS of pictures to help me memorize what will be on the next test.) If you have a hard time, try relating the subjects you're learning to something you have a passion for, it might just help!
