This is one of the best performing engines on youtube!! How does your garrett TV81 compare to a holset ST-50 as far as size? Just curious, I'm building an afterburning engine myself, and want to know what kindof speeds i could expect :P

excellent use of you free time , i very much approve :)

nice run ! There's a few dedicated jet and rocket guys out there and good on em - is it realy difficult to put this stuff on a small boat ? is salt or water spray leathal to components ???

WOW, it was just starting to wind up when you shut it down. Love to see it on a longer piece of road.

@curtknows101 Too true, those lines are parking markers for two cars nose to nose. I know what speed we ran (all day long) and so do you - that's all that matters :-)

awsome, this is one of the best iv seen yet on youtube.
What kind of turbo did you use????
do you have any blue prints??(please answer)

Garrett TV81 turbocharger, no blueprints though - i more or less bodged it together using freely available info from forums etc. go to yahoo group - diygasturbines - for loads of friendly help.

Truth is, the hobby is not about the kart at all, nor how fast (or slow) it goes - the fun we get is in building the engines ourselves, putting them on something is merely to demonstrate that they can produce useable thrust. It's a testbed.

thats more like 70 KPH not MPH, if that was 70MPh then you would be moving a hell of a lot faster.
i know what 70mph looks like and that wasent 70mph

You believe want you want, I used a handheld GPS to confirm the speed, the camera truck & the car from which this bit of film was shot also confirmed the speeds - maybe your getting confused by the length of the white lines.... they are very long. So, unless you were there on that cold february morning you really are in no position to accuse me of lying!
