@librarianeric Wow, that's great! I bet you either Tim Burton or Danny Elfman would love to have those albums with his signature on them.

My mother had me take organ lessons from him when I was around years old. After about 2 months I gave up on the lessons.

Korla was a unique/rare talent. His mysterious personification is extraordinary. People had concerns about his real heritage/upbringing as an African American in the midwest. We must remember that in his time, the 50-60's, racism in the US was a cultural issue and especially with the advent of a new media, television. he created a character that could marketed to the masses and not discriminated against.
I read somewhere he gave talks. I never heard him, but I would like to hear his voice.

I remember watching Korla in Los Angeles as a very small child.3-4 yrs old) Remembering him vividly.
I would stand very close to the black and white tube to see him as in the top youtube of him that does not allow comments.
Great memories:)

I wish the sound was in sync with the video
Last year at an estate sale, I scored two of his albums ... when I got home I turned them over and found out they were signed!

I remember my mother took my sister and i to meet him when we were about 9 years old and he was inSanta Rosa performing live, and thats when i fell in love with him, and i got to sit on his lap and get my picture taken. I still feel the same when i see these video's of him. He is the most beautiful man i have ever seen in my life, and is truly hipnotic in sound and looks.
